I develop my concepts for neon work in several ways. Sometimes I begin with pencil and charcoal drawings that are either very large (to scale) or quite small. Patterns for the glass bending are traced from the large drawings.
Most often, I now make initial proposals using the computer programs Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter, and then proceed to large-scale patterns.
