The inflatable mannequins were conceived when I pasted cutout figures into photographs of architectural settings and made photocopy collages. I then proceeded to make large charcoal drawings of atriums in buildings in Washington, DC and New York: the Agriculture Building; The Forrestal Building; the Corcoran atrium; the Botanic Gardens; the Guggenheim Museum; the Parker Meridian Hotel.
